I gave it four stars, with all the green faces, because it has one major issue. The disc doesn't even listen to the power saving of Windows, and even worse, it remains on even when the system is shut down. For me, this is a major deal breaker and if a Christian had mentioned it, I wouldn't have even bought it. You have to get up every time to turn it off.

If this doesn't bother you, then otherwise, it's perfect. Fast and stable.

I bought this case instead of a ready-made external hard drive because I wanted to choose the model of the disk inside. Since I had already spent extra money on a WD red hard drive, I didn't want to spend a lot on a case because the total cost would be too high, but I also didn't want to get a cheap case that would affect the performance of the disk.

So I ended up with this case, which may not be made by a famous company, but it is the best hard drive case I have ever had. I compare it to the cases of WD external drives, which I thought were of good quality, but they don't even come close to this one!

    Material quality:

The case is made of aluminum and the build quality is excellent! Overall, it has a premium feel and cannot be compared to the plastic cases of other WD externals that I have.

    Hard drive installation:

The installation of the hard drive in the case was quite easy, even with the poor quality instructions in the manual.

    Performance:

I connected the case to a USB 3.0 port and it works perfectly, with the same (if not better) speeds as my branded cases.

When I first put it into operation, I copied over 2+ TB of files, so it worked continuously for several hours and to my surprise, it only got slightly warm! My WD cases get quite hot and they are supposed to have a ventilation system. This one is completely closed, but the hard drive stays cool!

    Size:

The case is slightly larger than a hard drive, so it doesn't take up much space. I have it in my bookshelf and you can't even see it!

    Remarks:

The only negative thing is the small USB 3.0 cable included in the package. However, it's a minor issue since you can easily replace it.

5/5 stars - I highly recommend this case!

Nice aluminum case, I bought it to put a Toshiba DT01ACA300 3TB. I use it on a PC with USB 2.0/win 7 ultimate 64bit, and so far it hasn't had any problems. The case comes with screws, a screwdriver, an external charger, and has a 1-year warranty.

It has a LED at the back and not at the front, which means that if you have more than one identical case in a row, you won't know if they are all working from a relative distance. Also, what bothered/broke me were the two plastic locks to fit them with the first two screw holes on the hard drive so that they function as sliders in the case (to keep it still is relative...), they didn't fit exactly, the distance between the two notches was a bit smaller for them to fit, resulting in a slight curve in the locks. The case has Greek and some English, German, Italian, and Russian. The manual is in English(?!), I didn't have a problem, I didn't even need it, but for someone who doesn't know foreign languages or hasn't used an external case before, they might find it difficult, plus it looks cheap and not professional.

Let's hope that at least as a construction it will prove the packaging wrong and withstand the test of time. I bought it for 21 euros, it could have been 17-18 euros.

I bought it to replace a Samsung D3 case with the terrible USB3 micro B plug that, as expected, broke and left me with a 2TB disk. I didn't want to spend a lot of money, so I ended up with this case. I have to say that I am very satisfied with the purchase. The controller is relatively fast (140 to 145 MBps in USB 3.0 writes), it is made of aluminum with a very good finish, it is small in size, has a switch, and a blue LED for operation, although it is not mentioned anywhere. As for its durability, I can't say because I haven't had it for a long time, but from what I can see, it is definitely worth its money.
