The "Administrative Sanctions" are presented from a constitutional perspective, through a methodological approach that focuses on guiding behaviors on the part of the state. In contrast to other categories of administrative measures, which directly affect social reality, administrative sanctions are a means of indirect prevention of violations, in the sense that they aim to serve as a deterrent to the commission of deviant behaviors.

Individual supra-legislative requirements and limits on the imposition of sanctions are examined, stemming from the principles of legality, rule of law, equality and individual responsibility, as well as from rights such as silence, non-self-incrimination, prior hearing and effective judicial protection, as well as the presumption of innocence and the principle of ne bis in idem. The work is useful for academics, judges, and practicing lawyers.
