With so many books circulating and teaching parents how to "train" their baby to sleep through the night on their own, letting them cry, it was necessary to have a book that defends babies who do not sleep through the night, according to the desires and schedule of their parents and pediatricians. It also defends those parents who disagree with the harshness of these methods, but still need to understand and handle this difficult situation in some way, in order to eventually get some sleep themselves... Breaking the taboo of co-sleeping, this book explains in detail where, how, and especially how much babies and infants sleep, based on what is considered normal sleep for the beginning of their lives, and suggests gentle methods to facilitate their sleep, without endangering their physical, mental, and emotional health.

This book is a comprehensive study on the subject of sleep for babies and young children. However, the author primarily guides new parents to activate their emotions and thoughts, with an inexhaustible, understandable language and charismatic writing. It helps them realize that the baby never lies about their biological and psychological needs.

"Babies are creatures of the night" is a "sleep guide" against Procrustes' theory that advocates for a single model of human being. It recognizes and supports the right of the baby and the infant to uniqueness, and offers all, but all the information that new parents need for their shared life with the little human they brought into the world. It essentially guides them to operate with respect and love, because babies... are human beings...
