Two orphan twins, Lia and Rea, work as maids in a wealthy family. Their mistresses (mother and daughter) treat them "properly" from a conventional perspective, but in reality, it seems difficult to avoid the "necessary" distance imposed by their roles. On the other hand, the master of the house gradually develops a closer relationship with the two young girls.

This is the starting point for this peculiar novel that convincingly balances between social narrative and eroticism: in a closed urban environment, where the protagonists constantly oscillate between proper communication and violent conflict, a Desire beyond boundaries infects the normality of the "housewives" and dissolves everything.

This novel draws inspiration from the crime committed by the Papin sisters in France in the 1930s.
