Description

Sebastian Daniel Alexander Kane was raised with harshness for one and only purpose: to fulfill the scriptures of an ancient Celtic prophecy blindly believed by two rival mystical orders. He bore the mark. He was a descendant of royal lineage. And he was destined to unite with the One to bring into the world a perfect being, immune to all diseases, intelligent and charismatic, destined to determine the fate of the world.

Carolina Sereti grew up protected from this very fate, considering the lotus mark on her skin to be a random flaw, although from a young age she sensed that its existence would somehow define her life.

He never believed.

He chose conflict, flight, war.

She never knew. She lived with her dreams and enchanting fairy tales, until the battle began.

However, the more both resisted the frenzy of obsession and the vision of dominance, the more relentlessly powerful the invisible forces driving their union became.

They were the One and the One, descendants of the same king.

They carried the same omnipotent fate.

They were prisoners of the shadows, which threatened to drown their lives in gray clouds.

As death lurks, as love seeks the sword to cut the chains, and fear alternates incessantly with hope, the shields seem made of paper and dust. Sebastian and Carolina fight to break the bonds and free themselves from the weight of the Prophecy. Will they succeed, or will they ultimately succumb to destiny?

"She was unable to speak, so she simply nodded.

With relief, she was alone again, and leaned on the railings looking at the illuminated garden. She brought one hand to her neck and placed her fingers between the scarf and her skin.

Panic. Warning.

Run! Run now!

Her vision blurred. The soft music played by the pianist ceased to be heard in her ears.

Wild melodies began to sound in her head, worsening the dizziness. Melodies of war. Melodies from ancient trumpets.

Sounds of waves crashing angrily on rocks, driven by the relentless north wind. Voices of little girls. Voices of ancient warriors. What was this? Was she going mad? Danger."

Good story, although at the beginning it implies that there is something supernatural, but I didn't understand what that was along the way. It is quite long, as if we were going around in circles with the same events. Definitely not one of those books you want to read again for a second or third time.
