The book was written according to the new curriculum and the new assessment framework of the Modern Greek Language course for the 1st grade of high school, aiming to highlight the multiplicity of textual genres and cultivate linguistic literacy. It is organized into 24 teaching proposals, each of which includes:

- Analytical presentation of a thematic unit, according to the content of the textbook
- Theory: discourse organization, paragraph development methods, coherence and cohesion, summary, textual genres (article, speech, letter), description, narration, topic processing methodology, linguistic varieties, idioms, language functions, oral and written speech, dialogue, sentence linking, punctuation marks, word composition and production, etc.
- Exercises to consolidate the material of the thematic unit
- Comprehension and application exercises of the theory
- Evaluation criteria (including various textual genres)

The book "Essay - Expression for 1st grade of high school: 24 teaching proposals":
- Organically connects the teaching of discourse organization (theory - exercises and applications of the theory) with each thematic unit, as well as with the vocabulary and evaluation criteria that surround it.
- Proposes to the teacher and the student a comprehensive and effective organization of the curriculum, which liberates from the need for linear tracking of the content of the textbook and the limitations that this entails.
- Responds to the changes promoted in the teaching of the Modern Greek Language course for the 1st grade of high school, which reshape the teaching and examination methods.
