I have been making custom keyboards for some time now. This is the best stock keyboard I have tried. If you want to get into custom keyboards, you should definitely start here.
The switches are nice and quiet (at least compared to the Razer ones I have tried), they are slightly louder than my turquoise tealios. The stabilizers are incredible! The overall experience is impressive.
Negatives: I find the synapse a bit annoying. In order for the keyboard to work on boot, the synapse needs to be running, I don't know why. Also, the feet bother me a little. I prefer the medium ones but they slide quite a bit, so I closed them completely and have it flat. It still has a slight tilt, so it's not an issue.
For starters, I put some NK Creams and gmk caps that I had, and I'm considering trying the yellow ones from Razer but probably not. Anyway, this will be my keyboard from now on. Excellent job, Razer, I didn't expect it.
Stay away! Here is a double "a".
It's the second v4 75% I've purchased.
The first one had double register issues and I replaced it, now I have started the process to replace the second one too (with a different company of course).
Low quality switches, amazing feel, amazing colors, hot swappable etc etc, amazing sound, but two keyboards, back 2 back, having double register buttons is unacceptable. 200 euros device.
Maybe unlucky, I don't know, but wherever you look, the keyboard has issues with its switches unfortunately.
Incredible keyboard, for people who want to enter the world of custom keyboards without getting too involved it is a pretty good choice.
You can even change the switches
Recently, I have been immersed in research on keyboards. Now, for those who are looking, I can say the following conclusions I reached for myself personally. The world of custom keyboards is huge, it requires reading, experimentation, patience, and above all, it requires what else... money. If you are razer fanboys, say no more, start here. Otherwise, there are Hall effect keyboards for the more Pro (wannabe?) gamers. Obviously, there is a competitive advantage in these keyboards, but perhaps for the very competitive, I don't think it makes any difference to casual - decent skilled gamers by using a good linear switch with a 1-1.2 Actuation point and 50-45g force. Something like silver linears, etc. Now, the price is high, and if we consider that you also need a linear switch set for FPS players mainly (from 20e to 60e extra), we almost reach the prices of a wooting - boog/zoom 75, etc. I chose to go with a classic mechanical keyboard for the customization options and the plethora of switches you can try, because you are not limited like with Optical / HE switches that require specific switches and do not offer many options for change. There are certainly many cheaper options to start with, I saw very nice keyboards from budget reddragon, to high end keychron, and everything in between. I went here because it seems that there is a lot of work on this particular one (Gaskets / mod tapes/ foams/ screw in stabilizers, prelubed, beautiful LED, etc.), it is a great out of the box setup for those who do not want to get too involved but without losing any advantages of custom keyboards if they want to get involved later.
The first hotswappable keyboard from Razer has an incredible feel for a factory keyboard and is definitely a great foundation for someone who wants to get into the world of custom keyboards. I highly recommend it
