My name is Branislav Prelevic, but everyone calls me "Bane". I started playing basketball on the outdoor courts of Belgrade. I always liked shooting, and I learned to do it well - I learned to do other things well too, but people remember me for the big shots I took. Some I made, some I missed... That's the life of an athlete: they praise you for the successful ones, but you learn from the missed ones.
I played for various teams, but I spent an entire life at PAOK. There I grew up, there I experienced moments of triumph and bitterness, there I loved and was loved. And if I was criticized a little at some point, in the end, only love remains.

I feel grateful for what I have gained in my career - matches, titles, money, unforgettable moments, friends... However, I gained most by losing.
One might wonder why I chose The Power of Defeat as the title of my book. I deeply believe that our defeats, whether on the field or anywhere else, define us. They give us the opportunity to look inside ourselves again, to observe our entire life from the beginning. They change us, mature us, transform us. Defeat is the most useful ally in our effort to become what we dream of...
This book is not the story of my life. It is mainly what I learned about life through the moments that made me the Bane I am today.
