Coming from the Dell S2721DGFA IPS 2560x1440 165Hz, I noticed a difference in BLACK, but in the other colors, I didn't feel anything magical or incredible as I was told about the OLED PANEL, which probably plays a role since the DELL was a very strong monitor. In the WARZONE MENU, it was causing some flickering in BLACK, but it was fixed when I turned off G-SYNC and then set the MENU CAP to 120 FPS and the GAME CAP to 240 FPS from the game settings with G-SYNC enabled
I bought it from a large chain of stores for 799 euros. I exchanged it 3 times with a new screen because it had visible lines, especially where the color gray was. After the last return, I paid an extra 170 euros and bought the Dell AW3423DWF and I calmed down.
Good evening, coming from a TN panel 1080p 144hz from Viewsonic and having now decided to "invest" money in something very good, I ended up after a market research on this one.
Have you seen how kids jump when you give them a game? Well, that was me when I got it and opened it for the first time! Let's move on to the details.
First of all, the monitor was purchased for 800 euros from a well-known store that had it on offer, and that was what pushed me further to grab it, as it was a fantastic opportunity.
- 240 hz with 0.03 ms response time, what can I say first... the monitor is amazing, it has very smooth movement in everything. Although mainly in this category we target Competitive gaming (LoL, Dota, CS) where you can see the difference but also feel it. Of course, you need to have the appropriate PC that can handle 240 FPS, otherwise it won't work!
- Let's go to the OLED point of the screen, there anyone coming from a simple screen will think that until yesterday they were blind and saw the light. Incredible colors and blacks in every pixel, which will make a difference in very good videos/movies/series/anime but also in games with nice graphics (Cyberpunk, Elden Ring, etc). It also has HDR 10 for even better color range.
- The monitor has a very good viewing angle from everywhere, it is anti-glare which helps a lot for morning hours when there is sunlight. Also, the design of the screen frame is very thin and beautiful, without any margin. Its base is fully rotatable and adjustable to fit your needs.
- It comes with a Remote Control which has Preset settings (Gamer mode, fps mode) so you can adjust according to the use. And many other settings that you can adjust as you wish.
It is important to upgrade the Firmware if needed (mine came with the latest).
The monitor at 1440p is, I believe, the best on the market for its cost.
Finally, and very important, it comes with a 2.1 HDMI port that supports 4k at 120hz, higher Bandwidth, auto latency mode, and more... which are state-of-the-art technology! IMPORTANT only with the DISPLAY PORT you will reach 240hz, with HDMI it goes up to 144hz (for 1440p in 1080 it plays 240). All cables are included in the box with the monitor ---> HDMI 2.1, D.P 1.4, USB cable for Firmware updates, etc.
I hope I helped with this review.
I will come back if needed.
P.S. Photos were added, of the monitor together with the menu. (The quality does not do it justice, it is 4 times better, also the Wallpaper Engine works wonders on this one!)
5 ⭐ rating
Coming from a 1080p TN 144hz panel... I didn't cry as soon as I opened it and started playing games. It's expensive, but it's the best there is!
Update: I had it connected with a display port, but after a little research, I found out that it's better with HDMI 2.1 as it supports 12-bit color and maintains the 240hz (it's a 10-bit panel, by the way) and it became brighter in dark areas especially. It's not as bright as other panels, but it's enough for me! There is some flickering in the game lobby with low FPS or FPS cap, but if it bothers you, you can disable adaptive sync. It automatically goes through a cleaning process every time you turn off the screen to prevent burn-in (I have an animated wallpaper to avoid anything static, but I don't think it would cause any issues).
Very satisfied. Is it an excessive purchase? Yes, but we all indulge ourselves! If you're a professional, get it yesterday!
The monitor is excellent. The colors, the response, the design, the menu. Everything is at top levels. Initially, I have to say that coming from IPS and VA panels, I immediately felt the difference, literally jaw-dropping in terms of image clarity and color representation. The response is immediate and overall everything runs smoothly. For me, it's a 4.8/5. I would have liked it to have 2 clicks higher brightness for the money. For me, there's no going back after OLED
Well, it definitely doesn't have the peak brightness of a very good IPS, but you can't call it dark either. I, who also have a QHD AW2721D Alienware, can definitely say that it is not as bright. However, the image you have compensates with absolute black, the response time and input lag are almost zero. But I didn't notice any differences since the other monitor I have has excellent response time, it came with the latest firmware. Overall, I think it is a plug and play monitor that, due to its response and image quality, will make you feel like you upgraded your computer even if you don't have the latest hardware. The one and only drawback of the monitor, which is present in all OLED panels, is the flickering when the hertz are close to 60 and below, and it will occur in a few games in the game menu, such as Warzone 2, DMZ, Escape from Tarkov, when gsync+vrr is enabled.
"Chalvadiza" this monitor for several months..I was watching and rewatching videos on YouTube, reading comments on Reddit from users..The only thing left was to dig deep into my pocket..A difficult move as I consider 1000euros for a monitor excessive. But something was eating at me and in the end I made the move..
When unpacking it, you immediately feel the quality, the base is heavy, cables inside Display Port, HDMI 2.1, USB for connecting to the PC for firmware updates and also a small but very convenient remote control to adjust everything from there..
And now let's get to the most essential..The only word I can describe this screen with is ADDICTION..As soon as you open it and start playing games that you were already playing on screens with a different panel..You're blown away!! Colors from another planet, shocking difference compared to the Samsung G5 I had..Response and clarity on another level..Also, you can feel the 240Hz, depending on the graphics card you have of course..I repeat, the difference in image quality is shocking!!
As a conclusion, I have to say that it is definitely one of the best purchases I have made but also definitely one of the most expensive..Whoever is considering it and can afford it, I recommend not hesitating anymore..This screen at the moment in 2K is the best thing out there by far.
