Owner of the Quest 2 for a while where I eventually sold it to a friend of mine. I saw the Pico and due to its higher resolution and pancake lenses, I decided to buy it. The review will be compared to the Quest 2 since I had experience with it, but also because they are in the same category and philosophy.

    Resolution:
Well, today it arrived and I was really amazed at how big the difference in resolution is. So clear that you can see the pixels if you look for them. It's like playing PC at 1080p on a 27-inch monitor. Also, the clear image is not only in the center of the lens like in the Quest 2, but much more. Only at the edges would I say that's where the resolution starts to deteriorate. What do I mean by that? In the Quest 2, for example, if you look at an object inside the game and then want to see one that is more to the right, you have to turn your head so that the right object comes to the center of the lenses to appear crystal clear. But if you look at the object without turning your head, that is, only with your eyes, then it will appear blurry. However, this does not happen with the Pico 4. You can look around with your eyes and the resolution remains high. It only starts to deteriorate at the edges of the lens. I believe you understood what I mean.

    Comfort:
Apart from the image, which is much clearer than the Quest 2, I can say that in all other aspects, the Pico 4 surpasses it by far. Very nice design with the head strap, where you can easily adjust it. Also, much more comfortable on the head, no comparison to the Quest 2. It may weigh the same, but due to its distribution, it feels like a feather. As for the construction, it generally seems sturdy.

    Audio:
Also, a big difference in the audio, you feel like you're wearing a headset.

    Internal Fan:
It has an internal fan to prevent the lenses from fogging up. It doesn't work continuously, only once in a while. When it starts, you can feel a cool breeze. I wonder how I played on the Quest 2 without this. Of course, with the cost of minimal noise, but you still have to search for the noise to find it. But still, it's worth it and more.

    Passthrough:
Colored passthrough. It makes it much easier to grab an object while wearing the headset or to see someone entering. However, it's 2D, which means it's not meant for long periods, it will make you dizzy.

    Controllers:
Here is where the Quest 2 excels. With the Quest 2, I felt they were of higher quality, not that the Pico ones feel bad, you just don't feel that premium quality that the Quest 2 had. When, for example, you squeeze them with force, you can hear and feel them creaking.

    Controller Design:
However, the design is top-notch, the rings help a lot the way they are. I remember constantly accidentally hitting them against each other with the Quest 2.

    IPD Measurement:
No comparison to the Quest 2. The Quest 2 had 3 positions, here you have millimeter adjustments! Some say it's overkill, but I don't consider it overkill because the correct position provides a crystal-clear image.

    Battery, Charging:
It arrived with 30% and lasted about 40 minutes until it turned off. But it charged in just over an hour. With the Quest 2, it took 2 full hours. So, faster charging is definitely welcome.

    FOV:
To be honest, I didn't feel any difference. If I had them side by side with the Quest 2, maybe I would notice the difference, but if there is any, it will be very small.

    PCVR:
Where VR truly shines is in PCVR. It's day and night compared to the Quest 2. Just understand that you need a powerful PC for it.

    Motion Sickness:
In the quest 2, I would get tired after 20 minutes, especially in games like Boneworks. Here, I played Boneworks for about 1.5 hours straight and the battery actually died, otherwise I would have kept playing. Could it be just my imagination? I don't know. But I definitely feel more comfortable in terms of motion sickness compared to the quest 2.

However, there are also negatives, such as:

Despite the higher resolution, I can say that it still has some negatives overall.

    Flare lenses:
In bright objects in the dark, you see something like reflections on the right and left. It's definitely annoying, something that the quest 2 didn't have.

    Fish Eye:
There is a fish eye effect on the edges of the lenses, especially on the right side. Meaning, if you move your head left and right and look to the right in the lens, you'll see that the image seems to bend. It's definitely annoying.

    No audio jack:
You can use a USB-C to jack adapter, but that means you either charge it or use headphones.

Slight pixelation in games. I believe this will change over time as they constantly release and add new titles.

    In summary:
If you have the quest 2 and are considering switching to the Pico, I think it's an upgrade. The problem, however, is that any games you have purchased on the quest 2 will need to be repurchased on the Pico. That's the only negative. Otherwise, yes, I believe it's a clear upgrade from the quest 2.
