One cannot express in words the epicness that is The Legend Of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. 170 hours and I haven't even seen half of what it has to offer, this particular gaming gem.
Now my son's switch has been taken over by this game... I never expected that after Breath there would be something equally good, if not better... and my wife's nagging is holding up well... get it today!!!!!
The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is the sequel to Breath of the Wild. I started it recently and I can say that it is an excellent game with improved graphics and very good new abilities like the Ultra hand and the fuse. The story is as interesting as that of Breath of the Wild and the characters are the same. If you are a fan of the series or even if you are not, you should have it in your collection. Buy it now!

Graphics tragedy, much worse than Breath of the Wild, in which, by the way, I spent about 400 hours. I am a fan of Zelda. It is unacceptable to present this disaster in terms of graphics in 2023. And because I came from Forbidden West with unbelievable graphics, unfortunately, I couldn't give this game a chance. I stopped it after 6 hours, as if its graphics were aimed at 3-year-olds
I am not a big fan of Zelda.. I consider it a big mistake to release the game on this console, they should have saved it for the new one that will be released sometime in 2024. You can't ask for 70 euros for a game with graphics that are very outdated for 2023.
Okay, I don't think I can say more than what you have heard from the major channels and reviewers. I will simply say that at 34, very few games keep me dedicated and make me think about them when I'm not playing. One of those games is Tears of the Kingdom. The creators have done an exceptional job at all levels, but the main thing is that you don't get bored and remain dedicated even after several hours of gameplay. Not to mention that from the beginning, it immediately sparks curiosity about the story and the development of the plot. Nintendo truly knows how to create unique games. Games that you won't find on any other platform. And that's why they are a bit pricey... But they are definitely worth the money. Favorite Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom did not disappoint at all. They have maintained the core of Breath of the Wild while at the same time adding new elements that maintain a balance between the old and the new. It's as good as it gets. You already know the mechanics, but there are also new things that add to the foundation you have already built. Incredible game.
Update 23/8: There is quite a bit of inconvenience in doing simple things that were faster in BotW. The phase with the building techniques has tired me out quite a bit. To do something simple, I have to build 300 things. The map is the same as the old one, with new shrines and additionally the depths and the sky map. For some reason, the freedom you had in BotW that made the game flow effortlessly and naturally has been lost. Everything is very demanding but in a weird way that makes it boring (Note that I play games like Elden Ring and I enjoy the challenge). It has its good moments, but it has tired me out. 4.5/5, but to not do it injustice, I'll leave it at 5.
As a sequel to one of the greatest games of all time, it is slightly disappointing. As a standalone game, it is an amazing experience. All the new additions to moves, battles, and enemies are ingenious. The story, dungeons, and shrines show a clear (although small) improvement. My biggest issue is the world, which consists of the same one from the previous game, plus an underground and flying section. The new areas are relatively boring and overly similar, while the main world, although fantastic, is just a repetition of the first game. I recommend it for those who haven't played the first one, or at least haven't played it for 150+ hours, as they are very similar games
Oh Nintendo.... you have a system from 2017 and once again you have released the best game of the year (2023). There is no need to say anything more. But we will say it. Countless puzzles that can be solved in countless ways. An open world that can run non-stop forever. The new feature with the constructions gives tremendous depth to the game. Wonderful new powers. Do you have a switch? Get it YESTERDAY!! Impossible to get bored of it. I've been playing since the release date and the excitement to get my hands on it and play is the same as in mid-May!
If there was that device from Eternal Sunshine of a Spotless Mind that erases your memory, I would want to erase mine to play it again for the first time! Perhaps the only game sequel that is better than the first, with a small reservation for Mass Effect 2. My counter wrote 200 hours of gameplay and I still come across videos on the internet of things I haven't done and areas I haven't explored. Priceless.

After almost 100 hours of gameplay and having completed nearly 95% of the story, I think I can finally write a review.
After the masterpiece called Breath of the Wild, I admit I didn't expect anything great from Tears of the Kingdom. And starting to play it, I was right. Having played BotW again shortly before the release of the new game, TotK disappointed me quite a bit. All the changes that had been made to the gameplay as well as the small changes in controls really annoyed me. I didn't like the game at all for the first 5 hours. That is until I decided to progress the story a bit.
And specifically, by completing the memories with the geoglyphs...
Almost every memory ended with tears in my eyes. The story of the game is a worthy continuation of BotW!!! I haven't felt such depth and emotion since the time of FF7 and FF8.
The gameplay becomes familiar over time and becomes a tolerable challenge that doesn't tire you amidst all the magic of the world of Hyrule.
It is definitely the game of the year and one of the best games I have ever played.
Is it better than BotW? In terms of story, I would say yes. Overall, I would say it comes in second with a small difference.
Would I play it again? I would say no. Of course, I said the same thing after BotW, having played it for almost 200 hours. However, after some time, picking it up again from the beginning to help a friend, I ended up dedicating another 100 hours to it... So never say never...

By far one of the best games of all time. Nintendo has raised the bar of the industry with the launch of this masterpiece. It took its predecessor and made it look like a demo. Without diminishing the class of Botw, Zelda TOTK simply does everything better. From enemies, story, and final boss, everything is incredible and filled with emotions. The map is bigger than ever, expanding into the sky and underwater beneath Hyrule. It's worth noting the addition of Shrines to the game, with over 150 caves to explore. Since the game's launch on May 12th until today, June 19th, I have spent over 250 hours playing and I still have more to give. A must-play game that will go down in history as one of the best, if not the best, open-world game of all time. And surely, in a week from now, at the Game Awards on June 25th, 2023, it will rightfully claim the title of Game of the Year 2023.
As fans of Breath of the Wild, believing it to be the most enjoyable and impressive Open World game I have ever played, having dedicated 255 hours to the game to see the credits, I can only say one thing: Tears of the Kingdom is a better game than Breath of the Wild.
The truth is that I still believe that Breath of the Wild is a more impressive game in the sense that it was groundbreaking and changed the game forever, but Tears of the Kingdom is better overall because it does everything better.
The story is more interesting, the mechanics and abilities are more unique, the puzzles are smarter, there is a greater variety of enemies and objects, the map is 2.5 times bigger, and it has much more content in general.
In fact, the game has so much content that at 100 hours of gameplay, I felt like I hadn't done anything at all. It took me 255 hours to complete my playthrough, and I still have bosses and side quests to do, but I'm not interested in them at the moment.
My playthrough of Breath of the Wild took me about 100 hours to complete, which is almost 1.5/3 of the time it took me to complete Tears of the Kingdom.
We're talking about a HUGE game, extremely HUGE, to the point where it might tire some people who want to engage with the Open World as much as possible, but... it's a game that is VERY difficult to get tired of because it is so enjoyable! I happened to play for 17 hours straight one day and I really wanted to keep going! But I took a break, obviously (lol).
Besides how huge and fun the game is, I have to say something that I haven't noticed in a game for many years, but... I feel like there are some areas in which Tears of the Kingdom sets new boundaries for future video games, and what do I mean by that? I haven't seen, specifically, an Open World game with such scale, mechanics, and creativity. All of these are "game-changing" in Tears of the Kingdom, and I feel like it has set new boundaries in these areas that will have to be surpassed in the future... and that's what makes Tears of the Kingdom an impressive game, not on the same level as Breath of the Wild, but definitely up there.
Also, the ability to explore islands in the sky and the underworld is the icing on the cake, and along with everything I mentioned above, make the game an achievement in the industry and a masterpiece in game design.
Of course, I don't consider Tears of the Kingdom a masterpiece only in game design, but I consider it a masterpiece as a game as a whole.
My only serious complaint about the game is the technical aspect. The game doesn't run flawlessly, although I understand that it pushes the Nintendo Switch to its limits with such scale, size, and content, to the point where I generally didn't expect the game to run on the Nintendo Switch and I don't even believe that they achieved that, so that in itself is an achievement and I accept it... but I think it's worth mentioning because the technical aspect still has issues and we are in 2023.
Now, a smaller complaint I have about the game is that I expected the islands in the sky to have more content to offer. It is visually impressive, utilizes some unique mechanisms, and has nice puzzles to solve, but it is also a bit repetitive, empty, and small. I would like there to be two more islands of the same size as the Great Sky Island at the beginning of the game, and I would have no complaints whatsoever.
In conclusion, I will say the following:
Breath of the Wild gave me one of the most enjoyable experiences I've had with a video game in my life, while Tears of the Kingdom gave me... perhaps THE most enjoyable experience I've had with a video game in general.
I dedicated 255 hours and enjoyed every second, without exaggeration, and because I was very excited before playing the game, I felt like I was playing... a dream.
Overall, it is DEFINITELY the best game I've played on the Nintendo Switch, it is also one of my top 5 favorite games of all time, maybe even top 3, and it is my favorite video game experience I've had in recent years, since I played Persona 5 Royal.
First time playing a game from this series and I have to say I'm impressed. A huge game that elevates the console to new heights. I can't imagine this game being made on a console without the features of the PS5. Overall, it's a daily addiction after years of abstaining from the sport.

It's incredible what the Nintendo devs achieved with Zelda, a game that you can't get bored of, with so many things to do and explore.
They changed all the abilities and added new ones, which greatly change the gameplay of the game. The Ultra Hand is so creative that it has no limits, you can create infinite things that help you go to places you couldn't before.
The Fuse is also a very nice ability that makes the parts of the monsters much more useful than ever. In addition to making them stronger and more durable, you can also add elements such as Water, Fire, or Shock, which makes combat even more interesting.
Another thing I noticed they improved is the physics of the game.
The game is three times bigger than Breath of the Wild, with two new maps, one of which is really impressive and scary.
The sound of the game has also been greatly improved, as well as the music, which is amazing.
Overall, the game has so many things that I wish I could write them all, but I'll let you experience it for yourselves.

Before I bought it, I saw all the positive reviews it had received and was impressed by how many there were. However, as soon as I started playing it myself, I immediately understood why people considered it so good. Tears of the Kingdom somehow managed to take everything good about Breath of the Wild and make it 10 times better. There is so much more to explore, many new abilities, and personally, I like the story more than that of Breath of the Wild (I haven't finished it yet). The world is so big that one can easily get lost, meaning that doing something specific can distract you from something else. It is exactly what a proper sequel should be. I believe that even someone who hasn't played the previous game will enjoy this one.
An unreal sequel to one of the (already) best games on the Switch. They took the world of BotW, enriched it with content like the sky islands, better side missions, and truly created a Ganon that gave me chills with the VA. The gloom, although tiring, forces you to change your playstyle by using vehicles and special foods. The fuse, rewind, and ultrahand were my favorite moments in the game. Overall, the game has unlimited ways to play and will not disappoint.
One of the best games I've ever played in my life. 100 hours in less than three weeks and I still have so much to do that I don't know where to start every time I open it. It took everything positive about botw and added depth from combat to side quests. The story is also much deeper and nicer than botw but I won't say anything because it's something you have to experience without being spoiled. Truly an 11/10 game. I don't know how they made such a masterpiece that runs so well on the switch.
The game is simply a masterpiece. I have played it for 135 hours so far and it's amazing. If you liked BOTW, which I played for over 400 hours, this game will blow your mind. It has many elements from the older Zelda games, but the graphics engine, mechanics, and overall feel are similar to BOTW, with many new things to learn. It's great for exploration and the story is also good. I haven't finished it yet, but the only downside is that the bosses are too easy. They should release a DLC with a master mode and make the bosses harder. Other than that, the game is a MASTERPIECE and I believe it will win Game of the Year this year.
This game makes the previous one in the series, Breath of the Wild, feel incomplete. It's an incredible value game and worth the money. Just be prepared to abandon whatever other game you're playing for a while.
Words are unnecessary once again in a masterpiece game from the legendary Nintendo. It truly outshines everyone in the gaming industry (PC, Playstation, Xbox). Let's face it, in recent years, giant companies have been releasing incomplete games, full of microtransactions and bugs. They offer deluxe, premium, and legendary editions just to grab whatever they can from pre-orders. Here, we have the opposite end of the spectrum. A game made with passion, love, and respect for the consumer. If BOTW was a 10 out of 10, then this is a 20. I won't go into details about the gameplay, etc. This is an epic game with the Nintendo signature that will provide 500 hours of pure gameplay fun.
In my opinion, every console owner should have this title in their possession. It has everything that Breath of the Wild didn't have. One of the best games of all time. Congratulations to Nintendo for creating this masterpiece. I could mention many more things, but I don't think there's a reason to. Have fun to the owners and prospective buyers.
