Although I'm still exploring it, as it just arrived yesterday... Of course, I have some experience with tplink since I have two other simple 4g ones... So far, the 4g+ seems to activate only when downloading... In idle mode, it switches back to plain 4g... Also, for uploads, it seems to be plain 4g for the mere 50 it claims....
Regarding speeds or a specific provider, I won't speak too specifically because it depends on the particular antenna in the area that each person connects to....
In an area with moderate speeds on 4g, it doesn't give me much more compared to a simple 4g... The difference is more noticeable at night when there is no traffic... Where I used to get 40-45, now I reach 100... Not easily, but I get there...
And just as a footnote, on my phone in 4g+ with 3 parallel bands, I don't see a big difference.... As mentioned, the specific antenna in the area matters....
In the menu, you can choose which bands provide better speeds for it to do 4g+, but it doesn't do this for all...
You need to verify it in advanced mode while downloading to see it refresh to 4g+...
If you manually select a band, it will use x2...
If you choose, for example, 7+1 or 7+3, it will use x2.... The 20/28 band, however, doesn't seem to easily use x2 with the others... Although I think I managed to combine 20+1....
The 5GHz band on wifi is a positive plus...
The price, however, seems overkill to me.... It should be a click lower.... 120€ is, I think, too much...

For the money, if there is very good 4G mobile network coverage, then you can do your job.
What I mean: In no case does it reach the speeds of a good mobile modem, such as an iPhone 14.
If with the mobile you reach 300 megabits, then with the tp-link modem you reach about 100 megabits.
In general, you get one-third of what a good mobile gets.
Also, if you connect it with a network cable to the computer, you will get that one-third. Because if you connect it with Wi-Fi, the speed drops significantly.
Conclusion, it does its job in general and for the money it has, it is good because if we consider a good mobile, it costs 1000€ to have perfect signal. Also, the mobile does not connect with LAN to a computer and also because it costs a lot of money, I would not want to see it "overheating" from the temperature when it plays the role of a "modem".

In my village, with the Cosmote antennas in clear view, it locks at 180 to 220 mbps. No disconnections for a year. Those who complain about low speeds don't know how to set it up on the right bands and find the ideal placement. Additionally, those who compare it to mobile phones are completely clueless, as this locks onto 2 bands simultaneously while mobile phones have more. For those interested in ping, it ranges between 60-80 on European servers. A tip to find the ideal placement: using a compass app on your mobile phone, find the degrees where the antennas are located in an area with fewer walls and place the router there. I have it for 2 days in a village in Lesvos, its speed is from 120 to 260 mbps with sim vod at the same router point of cosm 40-50 mbps. With the same card on a 5g mobile 320-360mbps.
While there is a 4G+ network in the area with a very good signal, the modem only captures less than 50% of the signal and constantly disconnects from the 4G+. As a result, the speeds it achieves are quite low (<20mbps)
The modem speed is bad. 4G+ is a lie. You should get 150mbps at least. But I am getting 30 with wifi and with ethernet connection max 50mbps. With my phone, same operator I am getting almost 500mbps in the middle of athens. I would never suggest this router.
By far the best 4G+ router, stable, fast, and with plenty of options, even in difficult areas it has the option for manual band selection. And of course, for flawless results and stability, it requires a little attention to where it will be placed. And the TP-Link tether app for remote management is amazing.

I didn't expect miracles but where my mobile gets 15 mbps, this one should too. Unfortunately, it doesn't reach that. In an area with mediocre coverage from the already problematic Vodafone, it couldn't provide even a slightly better measurement. The same or even worse. For me, it's not worth the 120 euros, I got the same measurement with a 50 euro router. So pay attention, location matters
I can say that I am very satisfied. It works continuously and WITHOUT interruptions in a remote area of Chalkida for a month now. With 2 bars out of the 4 it has as a signal indicator and rarely lights up the LTE. With Cosmote unlimited.

Finally, a router that reaches speeds of 150+ mbps through sim. It's priced around 100€. I thought I had to spend around 300€ for a 5G router since all the 4G ones only reached up to 40mbps. Personally, I get speeds of over 150mbps and have even seen 220. A router from the same company, priced at 60€, with an older Wi-Fi protocol, only reaches 35mbps in the same location
Within 2 months, it suddenly broke without reason. In the 5-6 steps (literally) away from the router, the WiFi would drop. At first, speeds were 40-55mb/s and 20mb/s in the rooms. I bought a Huawei one and now I get an average of 120 mb/s and 50-60 mb/s in the rooms. I will not choose this company again!
I have had it for a little over a year with a Cosmote card. In the same spot, the iPhone14 reaches speeds of 70-120mbps, while this one only reaches 15-35mbps. In another house right next to a Cosmote speedbooster that reaches 25-50mbps (only with the sim), this one reaches 10-20mbps. I really wonder about the positive comments and if maybe I am just unlucky and got a faulty model.

I had a tenfold improvement in download and upload speeds with a Cosmote sim compared to my mobile phone (which is a Pixel 7 and not some cheap device). The signal is stable and doesn't drop, from the moment of installation (I inserted the sim and turned on the device) until a month later, I haven't experienced any buffering (I can even play online games without lagging).
There was no possibility of installing a landline in the room where I live up in the mountains, but this device solved my problem.

Flawless. It's worth its money. If you have a good signal from the antenna, it boosts the speed.
Quite reliable and stable in its operation as a 4G router. It needs a little finetuning for finding the best 4G signal position (compared to a mobile phone, it achieves about 70% to 80% of the speed). For the WiFi part, it is better to rely on a more specialized solution (access point or mesh).
It is a very honest Router for its price, it really raises the bar quite high for its functionality. I did not regret buying it even though I had the anxiety if it would turn out good...
I don't know what you have done wrong, all of you who have written a bad review. In a spot at the countryside where my mobile phone had no signal, the modem with 1 line brings me 6 Mbps, in a high spot with 2 lines close to 17! It's a shame I haven't gotten it for so long! A pleasant surprise. In a countryside with poor signal, it receives flawlessly (with a cosmote card), transmits flawlessly, maybe even better than a wired connection.
Excellent. The installation is very simple and the speeds are very fast despite not reaching 4G+ at the location it is in. Sometimes the indicator flashes, but the signal is not strong enough to maintain it. Nevertheless, in 1.5 months, it downloaded 400+GB at speeds that no one complained about. I saw up to 6 users connected simultaneously.
Despite all the good reviews, personally I found it terrible.... It constantly lagged during streaming, even at its best with 100mbps measurements.

Do not read about the extra cables, etc. that various people suggest, do not incur additional expenses, especially the lmr400 cables that they recommend are cables for special applications, with specific types, very expensive (in Greece there are only clones and it is a cable as thick as a finger, not convenient). The best thing you can do is to mount it in a waterproof box with a small fan to help it, turn off the wifi so it doesn't unnecessarily raise temperatures, increase the voltage, and finally, use its own antennas. It doesn't make sense to use directional antennas in the city, your telecommunications company may throw you off from the antenna you have targeted to some other unrelated point where your antennas are pointing. Also, keep in mind that speeds are not stable throughout the day depending on traffic and the area's requirements. The fact that you achieved 140 Mbps on Sunday at 6:00 am is because no one else is using it, but it does have stable good speeds of over 80 approximately all hours

In the area, only VDSL 50+ was available, and I didn't know how many Mbps it would give me, but since I have unlimited data on my mobile, I decided to go for this solution and I haven't regretted it at all. With a little searching, I set up 2 bands that had the best measurements for me, and with 50% signal strength, I get 50-60 download and 10-15 upload. I have a smarthome with 2 Google Home devices and 15 connected devices, and everything works smoothly for the most part. (Sometimes the Google Home loses connection, but I'm not sure if it's the router). I'm thinking of changing the antennas to something more powerful to get 100% signal. It's worth the money.
Update:
The router is very stable, but I still have an issue with the speeds :/ I also tried the MikroTik MTAO-LTE-5D-SQ mANT antenna on an external pole and got the exact same results. I probably need to get a stronger antenna.
