Edit 15/09/2023: Unfortunately, it has significant delays and freezes, which I believe is due to poor heat management. From the beginning, it was a bit slow on startup, but now during the summer, it has proven to overheat even with simple YouTube playback, not even in 4K. Just recently, I tried to wake it up from standby mode (not sleep or turned off) and it was impossible. It had increased its temperature again (while on standby!), when the room thermometer reads 29 degrees Celsius. Therefore, I am downgrading my rating from five to three stars.
It is very good, as other reviews state. Since I use it for relatively simple tasks and on a 1080p TV (not 4K), I still don't know if it has any issues with its more demanding capabilities. I will update if I encounter any problems.
Some important and non-important information:
The remote control has an infrared transmitter and, most importantly, through the menu, you can set it to control the TV or amplifier volume you may have and turn off both the TV box and the TV and amplifier. Be careful because it also has a microphone, so take your precautions as surveillance is integrated into everything in China.
Secondly, for anyone who has the blitzwolf IR blaster, even though MECOOL is not listed as a brand in the manufacturer's catalog, you can choose the brand "Domy" and one of the simple command sets will work. Although, who knows when this will be needed, just to enjoy the gadgetry of it...
I believe it should be powered by USB, at least micro USB, if not USB C, instead of the current custom power supply.
I tried a simple, old, and lousy Xiaomi webcam (without a microphone) and it worked.
It also recognized the local network and played files from the network drive.
