Extensive research on the Pontus, study of analogous works by excellent scientists and researchers, transfer of what we have heard for decades from our compatriots, first-generation Pontian refugees, as well as our sixty-year-old personal involvement with the events in Pontian communities and cultural organizations, led us to the writing of this book. Our goal is to present and highlight with respect and love the three-thousand-year-old historical, creative, and tragic journey of our ancestors.
