The book "The History of the State Legal Council" highlights, for the first time in publishing chronicles, the role of the Body from the establishment of the new Greek State until today, as a protector of its state finances and an ally in the effort to establish and operate a modern state of law. Author Christina Divani, through the recording of the history of the NSK, reveals aspects of the public, political, social, and economic life of the country, useful elements for future researchers in the field of Greek Justice and Economy. The main subject of the work is the description of the function and competences of the NSK, including the international ones (especially after the adoption of the new Organization of the NSK, Law 4831/2021). The developments, mainly legislative, that have influenced and contributed to the formation of the present NSK are presented in the chronology. This chronology also includes crucial historical events (mainly in the field of politics, justice, and the country's economy) that have influenced the NSK, which, moreover, has contributed to the formation of developments in these areas. Each chapter is preceded by a brief historical framework with summary information about the situation of each period in the field of politics, economy, and justice. Additionally, the author mentions all those who served in the NSK as both officials of all ranks and administrative staff. The book is a useful historical source in order to make the institution and the actions of the NSK known.
