As part of the triple anniversary of the European Year of Railways, the 200th anniversary of national rebirth, and the 150th anniversary of the start of railway construction in the surrounding area and the creation of the port and city of Alexandroupolis, the book "The History of the Railway in Evros" was published.  

The book provides a concise historical overview of the early efforts, creation, glorious past of the railway line, and the evolution of the network, which is the country's first intercity line. Then, the historical and detailed description of the villages and towns of Evros that are connected to the railway network follows. After all, through the train, Evros, although located at the edge of the country, developed into an important commercial crossroads between East and West. Finally, some proposals are presented to address the challenges, multiply the benefits of the line, and ensure its sustainability.  

The study was based on foreign and Greek-language literature, testimonies of employees who worked on the Evros railway, and archival material from the Associations of Friends of Railways and other railway enthusiasts and Associations who offered their help selflessly.
