Description
The book "Speech Therapy Intervention after Cochlear Implant" by speech therapist and clinical supervisor Dr. Binos Paris offers concise and instructive knowledge in the field of cochlear implantation in children with prelingual deafness, the number of which has been increasing in recent years with the advancement of diagnostic tools.
Based on the author's experience, the book provides systematic knowledge and practical methods of specialized speech therapy intervention in children during the postoperative period of cochlear implantation, in order to guide them towards language acquisition, phonological restoration, and ultimately speech production and perception.
This monograph will be a useful tool in clinical practice for speech therapy students in tertiary education, as well as for graduate speech therapists and professionals in related fields, as it provides fundamental guidelines for managing children with hearing loss and speech disorders.
This publication is one of the few available today in Greek literature regarding speech therapy interventions for children who have undergone cochlear implantation and, more generally, for children with hearing problems.
Binos Paris M.A., M.Sc., Ph.D. is a graduate speech therapist, clinical supervisor, and specialized educational personnel at the Department of Rehabilitation Sciences, Cyprus University of Technology. He holds two postgraduate degrees in Special Education and Speech Disorders-Neurolinguistics. In 2015, he received his Ph.D. on the study of speech in children with Cochlear Implant from the University of Macedonia. He has also taught and currently teaches in postgraduate study programs such as the M.Sc. program in Speech Therapy at the University of Ioannina, the M.Sc. programs in Pediatric Dentistry and Pathology-Therapeutic Dentistry at AUTh, etc. He has published papers with references in European and international conferences, as well as in international journals.
