  The lens is affordable (I got it for €250 with cash back), small, and lightweight. Used with Z5. Convenient for street photography, due to its discreetness. Also great for weekend getaways, you can just throw it in a bag with the camera and not worry about bulk. It performs well in low light, with good colors and clarity. The only thing to be careful with is the focus. When taking a photo of two people, if I don't stand somewhat far away, sometimes it focuses on one person and leaves the other out of focus. Also, when cropping a lot, it starts to show its limitations in resolution. But you have to know what to expect in comparison to the cost.

  Very good lens for its price. At f2, it's not as sharp and the bokeh is also a bit "plastic" for my taste, but at this price, you overlook those things. Overall, though, it's a lens that I highly recommend for this amount of money! Very lightweight, fast autofocus, quiet. I use it for both photography and video on a gimbal.

  Use with Z5 and Z30. The lens is very honest for its money. In the Z30, which has better af than the Z5, it performs better. In photographic use and with sufficient to low light, I have not lost focus on either of the two cameras. In very low light, the Z30 focuses faster on faces with eye af without increasing the iso. This is where the age of the Z5 sensor is evident. However, this can be solved with a slight increase in iso on the Z5, which as a Full Frame has more tolerance to higher iso. I write this because I read about a problem with the Z5 and I believe it is due to the camera and not the lens, as I have a comparison measure with another body. It is also something that concerns only the eye af and not any other autofocus function.
  In video with the Z30, it is an excellent lens (always for its money). Light enough to be placed on a gimbal without becoming front-heavy, while it is also fast enough with f/2 so that there is never a problem in any condition. The af sticks to the eye and does not move. Both on people and animals.
  Again, better performance on the Z30 compared to the Z5. Even when the Z5 is in 4K mode. However, the two bodies have a 4-year difference.
  In general, Nikon's "nifty forty," so small that it makes the camera fit in a jacket pocket. Especially if one has one of the more compact models. I would buy it again.

  It is a very lightweight lens... you don't realize you have it on the camera (I have the Z6). I mainly use it in nightclubs and I really haven't missed a shot!! It always focuses. Also, every time I used it for video without a gimbal, it helped me avoid "shakes" due to its weight. Considering its price and always in relation to the cost of other z mount lenses (which are sky-high), I would say it is worth it and more! In terms of quality, it is plastic, but that also helps it be lightweight... I believe it is a lens that even amateurs should have to complement the Kit lens that doesn't have large apertures.

  Use with Z5. I really wanted to like this lens as I love 40mm. Unfortunately, I had many missed shots due to inaccurate focusing even in easy photos of groups of people with good lighting that there was no reason to miss. Meanwhile, my Viltrox 85mm only misses a few clicks. I also counted on its macro ability, but the image is quite weak when focusing on something close, which I saw mentioned in several reviews. I replaced it with FTZ and Nikon 50 1.8G. I will come back when I use it enough to have an opinion and see if it was a weakness of the lens or the camera's unfocused clicks.
