...the "Local Communities" of the future will be shaped by the actions of their own societies, as they themselves will seek their own destiny, but will also play a significant role in the existence of economic and social development systems, but mainly in the well-being of their "indigenous" residents. It seems that today the local communities have understood this "well" and have already set sail for local development, taking into serious consideration the new realities of the new reality. In this direction, we believe that tourism and culture can contribute, as long as the leaders and managers of the respective local political authorities exercise and implement policies, exploiting "ideas" and "imagination" that do not require high economic expenses, but can be "redemptive" and decisive for the desired sustainable local development. Our opinion is that in the present, axes of local development are given with examples that could contribute to the "takeoff" of local development, with the help of tourism and culture. We listened to the pulse of this thinking and decided to dedicate hours of fruitful discussions and searches, in order to grasp the magnitude of the issue, and along the way to assist with our scientific knowledge in this direction: To present, that is, a comprehensive and scientifically substantiated opinion on the course that local development should follow in the 21st century, so that the Greek region can fully meet the expectations of the locals.
