This poem by Maya is the preface, but also the frame of reference, of the latest book by the great Uruguayan author Eduardo Galeano. We, the people, in all times of history, in all points of the map, are children of the days, children of time, made of living matter and stories, of the events of the past and the present. And every day of the year has its own story to tell about the great human adventure that started thousands of years ago and continues to this day. Galeano writes his "personal diary", he, a lover of history and a detector of the myth that connects the past with the present, the essence hidden behind the current, the universality of actions and events that the ordinary observer of things passes by without unlocking their meaning.

Three hundred and sixty-six narratives - let's not forget that 2012 is a leap year - one for each day of the year, compose this diary, written by a classic author who has achieved something rare: to say a lot with few words, to lead the reader to the greater through the lesser.
