The Olympus M.Zuiko Digital 45mm f/1.8 is a sleek 90mm equivalent lens for Micro Four Thirds mirrorless cameras. The resulting short telephoto focal length pairs with a bright f/1.8 maximum aperture to benefit working in low-light conditions and also offers greater control over depth of field for producing selective focus effects. 

The lens's optical design incorporates two very high refractive index elements, which help to reduce distortion and spherical aberrations in order to achieve notable sharpness and accurate rendering. 

Additionally, a Movie & Still Compatible (MSC) autofocus system is used to provide fast, quiet, and precise focusing performance that is well-suited to both video and photo applications.

    Ultra-lightweight, small size, sharp, excellent price. The only thing I can fault it for is that it has some corner vignetting when fully open, but it's not particularly noticeable. It's definitely worth it and more.

    The most value for money lens of the m43 system. Small, lightweight, sharp, fast focusing. The only thing it lacks is weather sealing, but at its current price (229 euros) it is impossible. You can buy it with your eyes closed.

    Excellent lens. Optically exceptional. The construction, although made of plastic, appears to be of high quality. Time will show its durability. The lens mount is metallic, which is a positive aspect. Immediate response from the autofocus system. However, where it deserves six stars out of five is the quality/price ratio.

    This is one of the best lenses for the Micro-4/3 format, especially considering its extremely affordable price.

    Pros:
    - Bright/fast with an aperture of f1.8
    - Tiny size, weighing only 115g
    - No chromatic aberration throughout the aperture range (from f1.8 - f22)
    - Tremendously affordable price

    Cons:
    - Does not come with a lens hood, a practice followed by most Olympus lenses
    - Has a fairly large minimum focusing distance (half a meter). In other words, it is not suitable for close-up macro photography.
    - Relatively slow manual focus ring (requires several turns).

    Apart from photos, where it particularly excels in portraits, the lens is also excellent for video.

    I highly recommend it, as it is a gem in the ZUIKO lens family.
