Excellent quality photos as long as one deals with its settings. Its capabilities are incredible.
Good compact camera for underwater shots, but with a short lifespan due to leaks. It started taking on water and became useless after about 2 years. From what I learned, in order for the warranty to be valid, it needs to be serviced and waterproofed every year, which comes with a significant cost (I don't know exactly how long the warranty covers or if there is serious technical support and spare parts available), but now it's too late. I had very good underwater experiences with this camera, but when it broke, I realized it wasn't worth the money, as it is quite expensive. I wouldn't buy it again.
Equivalent performance to previous models in the series but with a more difficult to use operating system and problematic zoom lever (gets stuck). As always, loss of color tones in scenes with a lot of light, very good performance in cloudy conditions, and poor performance in very low brightness and nighttime shots without flash, especially in automatic mode. Significantly improved performance with adjustments. Moderate performance in details and textures, and moderate to poor performance in scenes with strong contrasts in brightness, such as in photography (auto mode). Excellent video and lightning-fast focus. Reliable wifi connection and easy transfer of photos to mobile. Epic battery life. Outdated micro USB connection in the era of USB-C. Sturdy and well waterproofed construction with minimal lens fogging in temperature/altitude/humidity differences. Relatively heavy and bulky, difficult to fit in pants pocket. Lack of serious competition, still the best choice for outdoor professionals or serious enthusiasts, especially in the sea.
It is an excellent camera for underwater and non-underwater shots with a zoom logger that records position with GPS, depth of capture, and water temperature. It has clear capture and good video. Waterproof up to 15m depth and with a waterproof case it goes up to 70m. Good for diving in depths with color balance and has many modes for different shots. The battery is really amazing, lasting for hours of shooting, and even if you leave it unused for 20 days, it remains at the same level of charge. For its price, it is a very good value for money. The bad news is that the Olympus company will close, so spare parts and support will be available until stocks run out.
