The object of this volume is to explore the history of economic ideas in modern Greece, clarify the relationship between political economy and Greek intellectuals, between economic theories and economic policy, approach the problematic relationship between economic theory and modern Greek reality. The studies included in the book approach the interplay of political economy and economic policy in Greece from various perspectives at different times or periods. At the same time, emphasis is placed on the economic ideas of prominent political figures, on the institutional formation and reproduction of Economic Science in Greece until the recent past, and on the relationship of Greek economic thought to the work of Keynes.
