The children of Antigone were never born or, on the contrary, there were many and happy, or again the belief in their existence is a matter of our own faith, work, ideological management. This is how it happens with the memory of our people - and every people and individual. In this book, historian Yagos Andreadis seeks these threads of memory in ancient drama and its performances, in the relationships of archaeology and anthropology, in the texts of Kalvos, Papadiamantis or Cavafy, and finally in writer-activists, such as Makrygiannis, who combine the management/discovery of a memory with an unquenchable struggle for freedom.
