Fast, stable tracking!

Maintaining continuous, stable focus on moving subjects is absolutely vital for capturing every important moment, from sports to everyday life. Sony's advanced artificial intelligence tracking algorithms process large volumes of data at high speed and in real time!

AF in the eyes for humans and animals!

The real-time eye autofocus constantly tracks the eye in moving portraits. Priority can be given to the left or right eye. It also works with partially hidden faces, faces looking down, or faces lit from behind. Sony's innovative eye detection algorithms have been adapted for both humans and animals, allowing you to capture incredibly sharp portraits of your pets and stunning wildlife shots.

Reliable autofocus!

The wide coverage of autofocus is based on 425 phase detection points and 425 contrast detection points, for particularly increased detection accuracy. The fast performance from the latest generation image processing system achieves autofocus speed of 0.02 seconds, while advanced algorithms predict the subject's next movement.

Higher image resolution, realistic textures!

The APS-C sensor uses copper for enhanced conductivity and circuit processing capability, for improved light gathering performance. Combined with the advanced image processing system, image resolution is enhanced and textures are more realistic.

The improved noise suppression provides cleaner images in low-light and high-sensitivity settings. The native ISO sensitivity has been increased to a maximum of ISO 32000, with maximum expanded ISO sensitivity up to ISO 51200 for still images. Fast hybrid autofocus for movies!

The fast hybrid AF offers high speed, accuracy, and tracking performance to meet the strict AF requirements in 4K movies. The most effective phase detection at the focal plane offers more stable AF, while contrast detection AF improves overall accuracy. Stable and smooth focusing even when something passes in front of the subject.

Easy framing for selfies!

Frame yourself easily for selfie and vlog shots, thanks to the camera's LCD screen, which can tilt 180° upwards and 74° downwards, allowing for better subject positioning in the frame when shooting from low or high angles!

Focus with touch!

Select "Touch Tracking" from the menu and set your subject by touching the screen. The automatic tracking will start whether you are taking photos or shooting videos. "Touch Focus" is just as simple. Simply touch the appropriate point on the screen to set the focus.

    Having changed from the a6000 and a6300, I would say that the a6100 is superior in terms of photo quality, video, ISO, and significantly faster autofocus speed.

    Pros:
    - Autofocus speed
    - Small and durable body
    - Good photo quality up to 3200 ISO
    - Excellent 4K video, 1080p at 120fps
    - Wide range of lenses

    Cons:
    - No in-body stabilization
    - Not water resistant
    - Low-resolution viewfinder and slightly small in size (compared to the a6600)
    - Lack of picture profiles (S-Log2, S-Log3, HLG) in video for more editing options
    - Relatively short battery life, especially when shooting 4K video (additional batteries are needed)

    With the Sigma 18-50mm f/2.8 or Tamron 17-70mm f/2.8, it is an excellent choice for a travel camera and more. I am very satisfied with the camera, the only thing I would like is a larger viewfinder.

    Having changed 7 cameras including full frame, the moment has come when I settled. In every aspect, the a6100 is flawless. I compare it to the holy trinity of Sigma and the more expensive crop and full frame models seem non-competitive to me.

    If you exclude the picture profiles, it has nothing to envy from much more expensive cameras + the fact that it can shoot continuously for 30 minutes and in one file!! You should buy a regular camcorder.

    Certainly better than the 6000, but for this money, 700 euros plus a good lens for 400 euros, a total of 1100, you can definitely find something better. In my opinion, the price should be at most 550 euros. But Sony still sells it for 569, the 6000 which should have been discontinued or lowered to 400 euros. But it seems that the fever for mirrorless cameras is still going strong
