Description

For decades, we've been told that positive thinking is the key to a happy, rich life. "F**k positivity," Mark Manson says. "Let's be honest, shit is f**ked and we have to live with it." In his wildly popular Internet blog, Manson doesn't sugarcoat or equivocate.

He tells it like it is-a dose of raw, refreshing, honest truth that is sorely lacking today. The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F**k is his antidote to the coddling, let's-all-feel-good mindset that has infected modern society and spoiled a generation, rewarding them with gold medals just for showing up. Manson makes the argument, backed both by academic research and well-timed poop jokes, that improving our lives hinges not on our ability to turn lemons into lemonade, but on learning to stomach lemons better.
Human beings are flawed and limited-"not everybody can be extraordinary, there are winners and losers in society, and some of it is not fair or your fault." Manson advises us to get to know our limitations and accept them. Once we embrace our fears, faults, and uncertainties, once we stop running and avoiding and start confronting painful truths, we can begin to find the courage, perseverance, honesty, responsibility, curiosity, and forgiveness we seek. There are only so many things we can give a f**k about so we need to figure out which ones really matter, Manson makes clear.
While money is nice, caring about what you do with your life is better, because true wealth is about experience. A much-needed grab-you-by-the-shoulders-and-look-you-in-the-eye moment of real-talk, filled with entertaining stories and profane, ruthless humor, The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F**k is a refreshing slap for a generation to help them lead contented, grounded lives.

  • Well-written book, somewhat raw I would say in the way it tells you, presents everything as it is. It shows you a new way of perceiving things and helps you understand what is worth it and what is not

    Product Name:
    - The Subtle Art Of Not Giving A F*ck, A Counterintuitive Approach to Living a Good Life [Price: 26 Euro]

    1. Pros and Cons:
    Positives:
    1) It grabs your interest quite quickly in the first few pages.
    2) I like the author's style of speaking. He says everything as he thinks it, without moral barriers.
    3) A beautiful book for a library.
    4) Good quality of the hardcover.

    Negatives:
    1) It didn't bother me much, but in some chapters, there were several repetitions of something he said earlier. However, he does it in a way that helps you understand it better, so it's not necessarily negative.

    2. Little Words About the Book:
    - The Subtle Art Of Not Giving a F*ck. The first book I ever bought in physical form to read.
Firstly, I have to say that as a person who didn't find reading books very interesting, this one didn't bore me at all. It's as long as it needs to be.
In a few words, the book tries to explain to you how you don't need to care about things that don't deserve it. For example, a random comment someone made or something you think is important but actually isn't. It tries to make you understand that the number of things you can care about is limited. The same goes for your time, so "weigh" what is and what isn't important in your mind. And don't give a f*ck about the rest.

    3. Would I Recommend?
    - Yes, if you don't mind the way he speaks. I mean, telling you everything straight to your face. Then it's definitely worth it.

    4. Additional Comments:
    - The price in Greek is much lower compared to the English version. I don't know if it's worth getting it in Greek. I believe that books lose their liveliness with translation. However, with the double price in English, if you don't mind reading in Greek, then the translated version is probably worth it.

One of the best self-improvement books I have read, and I have read many! It gives you a different perspective to see things.

It is a very interesting book.
Provocative (and slightly misleading title) and correspondingly "in your face" writing style.
Maybe it has to do with the fact that it suits my style, but I really believe it deserves 5 stars

Fantastic book that traces the values we have or should have. It analyzes in a graphic way and with reason what the majority considers important today, what should be considered important, and how to bridge the gap between them.

It helps us recognize cases where we have entitlement - the mistaken impression that we are "entitled" to something we haven't worked for. By removing the sense of injustice from our lives, it automatically becomes more productive and enjoyable.

I have already bought a second copy as a gift and I plan to get more. It's worth it.

I am not a person who gets offended or easily hurt, so the writing style didn't seem excessive, but it exaggerates things that have been said and is fully overrated.
