From Drosia, Petra, and Chrysanthemum, the terrifying traditional ghosts of Japan, to the modern-day Santako of Japanese horror, the image of the yurei, the archetypal Japanese ghost, has not changed over the centuries. But where do yurei come from? Where do they reside, and why do they not find rest?
