The "heroic" Marantz CD72 MkII source had started to show its age in terms of mechanics, while my beloved troublemaker had found a way to blackmail by dropping CDs to get attention.
The solution was ripping physical media to flac and streaming from the PC, while maintaining the quality in the entire analog part of the sound: the solution was the CXN V2. Wireless streamcasting from the laptop with Manjaro Linux operating system, pulseaudio volume control, and mkchromecast. Combining the flexibility of the software (libraries, playlists, fast and complex searches) with the excellent quality of the hardware and the ease of wireless communication.
    COMPLETELY SATISFIED.

    Expert user

I have only had it for a few hours and even though I was very skeptical about this purchase (I had never bought a Cambridge audio device before) due to its high cost, I can say that I am thrilled! After clarifying that it was connected to a YAMAHA A-S1200 amplifier and Bowers and Wilkins 603 S2 Anniversary Edition speakers with an ASW608 subwoofer, which are still unmatched, I can say the following:
1/ The most interesting feature is the wired DAC, which truly delivers the songs I have been listening to for the past 30 years, maybe even better than CD (I have the Yamaha CD-S303). Incredible range, details with plasticity, depth, and naturalness from Greek folk songs of the 70s. For the first time in my life, I dare to listen from a computer playlist (Apple MacBook Pro 16 2021 with a high-quality USB-C to USB-B cable purchased from an audio company) and enjoy my music as an audiophile with special requirements. No more CD changes in the player.
2/ Having also purchased the Bluetooth adapter BT-100 from the company, listening from my iPad Pro 12.9 2021 was an amazing experience, as it was my first time using a Bluetooth receiver and audio playback device that delivered such clarity, range, and volume, offering an excellent listening option.
3/ The internet radio impresses with its ease of use, mainly through the Stream Magic application from the company. The sound is exceptional, comparable to analog, at least for the genres I tried (rock, jazz).
4/ The digital optical input that I connected to my TV (my amplifier is fully analog) satisfactorily enhanced the sound, resembling a 2.1 home cinema system.
5/ However, I have questions about the Airplay 2 connection, as when listening from my iPad Pro, the quality did not impress me, while I heard unjustifiably many low frequencies. This requires further investigation.
6/ The Stream Magic application is user-friendly but does not offer the option to play the songs I have on my iPad or iPhone (of course, files from CDs) through it, providing an upgrade to the sound. You can only listen from iTunes or another compatible digital player by selecting the AirPlay output. While other companies (YAMAHA, Panasonic) provide applications with this capability, it is not available here.
7/ The packaging, build quality, and usability are on another level. With black high-quality foam and neatly arranged accessories, it is masterfully done. As soon as I activated it and connected it with an Ethernet cable, it updated itself automatically, and the instructions are very informative. As a beginner in streamers and DACs, I had no difficulties at all. The gray color of the device matches both my silver with black lacquer YAMAHA amplifier and my other black hi-fi components.

In conclusion, this is a machine whose high cost of ownership (I managed to get it for 1098 before it increased by 200 euros) is justified if you want all these features: DAC, Bluetooth, AirPlay 2, internet radio, Spotify, Tidal, or other compatible applications. I highly recommend it as a top-notch DAC and then as a streamer, for this price.

It is the first upgrade, out of a total of three, that we made to our "stereo system" from 1986 (!), which functions perfectly well. We simply wanted to enter the modern era. You think of a song, search for it, and immediately listen to it. Or you continue searching or let the playlist that came up play. No more spraying the record, dusting, etc. (I'm not saying that doesn't have its magic). Its connection to the amplifier, the home wifi, tablets, and mobile phones is seamless and immediate. (Note: The CXN is not in the best wifi signal location, but there has never been a problem so far.)

The sound is FLAWLESS. The menu is simple but fully functional. The build quality is very good. I would prefer the app (android) to be slightly improved, but ultimately it doesn't spoil the listening/enjoyment. I use it more for the basic setup rather than the CXN's operation.

In the evenings, it has captivated us as a family in the space where the "stereo system" is located, and the TV simply doesn't play. A glass of wine (maybe two) and we start with old (80s-90s) rock, pop, alternative, jazz, traditional Greek music, island songs, contemporary Greek art songs, and the list goes on...

I would buy it again with my eyes closed.

P.S1 It was combined with a KENWOOD (1986 amplifier) and KLH (1986 speakers). SOUND = VERY GOOD.
P.S2 It can be combined with a YAMAHA A-S701 (2021 amplifier) and KLIPSCH RP-8000F (2021 speakers). SOUND = out of this world! PERFECT! (period)

For the price, by far the best. If you like quality sound, there is nothing else at this price. The only negative is that it does not have MQA support. The build quality is excellent.
