The Ranger III Gtx shoes from Lowa are suitable for long hours of hiking. They are made from Nubuck leather for extra durability and feature a Vibram outsole for optimal grip. Additionally, they have a waterproof Gore-Tex membrane and an M-Tec support system that prevents slipping and absorbs shocks.
Specifications are collected from official manufacturer websites. Please verify the specifications before proceeding with your final purchase. If you notice any problem you can report it here.
After one year of use, the results are as follows:
The positives: They are good for muddy terrains, they provide good foot support, and have a nice sole. During long hunts, I did not experience any discomfort.
The negatives: I do not recommend them for rocky terrains. They are only somewhat waterproof, as they tend to get wet in snowy conditions and transfer the cold temperature inside. And if the temperatures are low, it becomes an issue.
Ankle support is why I bought these, after all, for hiking with a load. Very good quality, the sole is also very good. I highly recommend them!
First pair of serious hiking boots. Although I knew it, I ignored the basic rule that hiking boots should not be worn "straight out of the box" on a hike. I wore them brand new on my ascent to Mount Titaros. The trail had a lot of snow and was steep and rugged, overall demanding. The hike, including breaks, lasted 5 hours. The feeling was like wearing slippers the whole time. Exaggeration? But it's true. Amazing boots. What more can I say? They are leather and gore-tex.
