In this book, all parliamentary elections that have taken place in Greece after World War II are recorded - in a simple, understandable, and above all useful way. Specifically, the "identity details" of each electoral contest are provided, along with some basic information about people and things, and, most importantly, a generally primary visual material that can instantly transport the reader, like a time machine, to other times in our recent political history. This material includes photographs, newspaper and magazine front pages, pre-election material from parties, ballot papers, documents, cartoons, and other documents.
We believe that this book will help older people organize their memories and remember events and situations that were once at the center of general interest. At the same time, it will contribute to informing younger people, in a systematic, concise, and vivid way, about significant political events they may have "heard something about" from their parents and know "vaguely." They will follow, for example, all the electoral contests from 1946 until today, they will "meet" the protagonists, they will experience the birth and death of parties that shaped history, and they may understand the conditions that nurtured the passions, hopes, and disappointments of the previous generation.
