Description

In the new series "Navigator" by Archetypo publications, Thanasis Vembos' book titled "Lost Explorers" has been released. Through this book, we will get to know great explorers who literally walked in the four corners of the earth, flew into the air, and even reached space.
Starting our journey from the 18th century, we meet the Frenchman J.F. de Galouzeau de Lapérouse, who discovered new countries in the Pacific Ocean, and Salomon Andrée, the first man to escape the confines of the earth by flying in a hot air balloon.
Moving on to the 19th century, we encounter the Englishman John Franklin, who mapped the northern regions of Canada and the Arctic Sea, and the Scottish David Livingstone, who explored Central Africa.
In the 20th century, as technological advancements progress, explorers multiply. Norwegian Roald Amundsen will be the first person to set foot on Antarctica. Percy Fawcett, an Englishman, will map the borders of Bolivia and explore the lost civilizations of South America. The exceptional English mountaineer George Mallory will be lost 240 meters before reaching the summit of Everest, and we will never know if he managed to "step" on it first. Amelia Earhart, an American, will be the first woman to cross the Atlantic Ocean by plane. Finally, Yuri Gagarin, a Russian, will have the astounding feat of being the first human to leave the cradle of Earth and "fly" into space.
Follow step by step in the footsteps of the lost explorers who managed to make their dreams a reality. Because, as the great visionary-author Arthur C. Clarke once said, "If mankind ever stops dreaming, the history of the human race will come to an end."
