Description

The "Holy and Great Council" has completed its work and has been referred to the life of the Church and its history, where it will be judged. History will also give it its true name, because we know that some Councils, although characterized as Ecumenical, were rejected by later Councils, while other Councils, although convened as Local, gained ecumenical authority. This is due to the decisions they made and their acceptance or rejection by the fullness of the Church.

In general, Councils are judged by those who have an enlightened mind and mystical experience, because they constitute the vigilant conscience of the Church, as those who have the "mind of Christ" (1 Cor. 2:16), they have a "doctrinal conscience".

Some may mock the ideas of purification, enlightenment, and theosis, but in reality, these are the foundation of Orthodox life, as the holy Dionysius the Areopagite explains in the text "On the Ecclesiastical Hierarchy", and as all the Fathers of the Church emphasize.

Therefore, as written in the "Synodikon of Orthodoxy", we follow "the teachings of the holy God-inspired Fathers and the pious mindset of the Church", that is, the God-inspired teachings of the saints are closely connected to the mindset of the Church.
