Description
"A Jew against the Jews": Simplifying it to an excessive degree, and that is exactly what a large part of the international Jewish community did, one could summarize the sharp controversy that erupted in the early 1960s with the publication of Eichmann in Jerusalem: "A Report on the Banality of Evil" by Hannah Arendt.
Her old friend Gershom Scholem, a close friend and collaborator of Walter Benjamin, a Zionist and a great expert in Kabbalah and Jewish tradition, immediately reacted with a letter of sharp criticism to Hannah Arendt, and of course she responded. Their correspondence is the subject of this book, which inaugurates the series "Two Letters" by Agora Publications.

Reviews
I read it in 40 minutes on the train, but it can be done even faster. It is interesting because the dialogue itself sets the historical context of the era and outlines two different - political - perceptions of accountability for war crimes.
