Description

The prayer of the Church is like the breath of man: his life depends on it! Among the prayers of the Church, the Akathist Hymn holds a special place. The content of this hymn, which is a masterpiece of world literature and a source of spiritual strength for man, is the message of the Angel Gabriel to the Theotokos for our redemption. The kontakion "To the Invincible Champion" became the national hymn of the Greek people and the most characteristic part of the Salutations. In the new elegant edition available in blue and burgundy colors, the translation by theologian professor Mr. Stefanos Kisiotis is presented opposite the text. This edition is published with the blessing of the Patriarch of Constantinople, His All-Holiness Bartholomew.
