This work analyzes the function and subsequently the legal nature of cryptocurrency within the framework of Greek law, examines the treatment of cryptocurrency by foreign legal systems, presents some cases of cryptocurrency abuse in the context of criminal offenses, and finally proposes the approach that the Greek state should adopt regarding cryptocurrency, which it still largely seems to ignore.
