Everyone nowadays talks about the crisis of politics, while many question the functionality and the actual content of traditional ideological and political identities, especially the distinction between Left and Right. They therefore question the meaning and value of politics.

There is not only a political problem but also a problem of democracy, a problem that permeates all democratic institutions, representative and direct or participatory. But it also permeates the media, the organizations of civil society and various pressure groups, public opinion surveys, the internet and its new forms of political participation.

Neither one nor the other level can provide a complete and functional solution to the problem of the political underrepresentation of society. In my opinion, a more radical approach is required that seeks again the deeper historicity of the institutions of representative/constitutional democracy, which have proven to be essential elements of democracy.

In this new post-representative democracy environment, a new political agenda is being shaped that can give meaning to political participation, to the rights of citizens, to the axiological and therefore ideological and ethical approach to politics. A new political agenda that gives content again to concepts such as democracy, the general interest, the rule of law, human rights, the welfare state, social justice, solidarity, and cohesion.

This new institutional framework that we call post-representative democracy is much more than a new governance system. It is a new movement of political participation, a new radical movement of political redistribution. Redistribution of political power at all levels. This is particularly important because we address citizens who are tired, pessimistic, alienated, and distrustful. We must convince them of a radical renovation of democratic institutions and therefore of politics itself, which is practiced in the name of the people and for the sake of people who truly need a different politics.
