The twenty centuries of Christianity have created a lamentable body and a destructive sexuality. From the myth of the Son of God incarnate as the Son of Man, a myth named Jesus serves as the primary example to imitate: a body that does not drink, does not eat, does not laugh, does not have sexuality, in other words, a counterpart. The neurosis of Paul from Tarsus, a sexually incapable man who seeks to extend his disastrous fate to all of humanity, culminates in the proposition of imitating a second model: the body of Christ, that is, a corpse. Based on the principle of this double imitation, namely an angelic counterpart that one can achieve by killing the body on earth, the Fathers of the Church, one of whom is Saint Augustine, develop a theology of Christian love that constitutes a negation of the flesh. The martyr who enjoys pain and death in order to gain a place in paradise becomes the model of rejoicing.

A second theology of Christian love passes through Sade and Bataille, two unexpected supporters of Christian nocturnal love: identification of pain with pleasure, contempt for women, hatred for the flesh, aversion for the body, pleasure in death...

The neutralization of this negation of the flesh is found in the "Kama Sutra," a powerful antidote to the poison of the Church Fathers. Under the sun of India, solar eroticism presupposes a spiritual eroticism of life, equality between men and women, techniques of the erotic body, the construction of a body that collaborates with nature, the promotion of beautiful individualities, male and female, in order to create a radiant body for a happy existence.

The "Search for Pleasures" speaks of the Christian pessimism of the flesh and proposes the philosophy of a sensual Enlightenment.
