The game is described as the first open-world Star Wars game, it will be single-player and its events will send us between those of the movies Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back and Star Wars: Return of the Jedi. Players will be called to travel to the Galaxy and explore various planets, either some that we know from the various movies and TV series, or new ones. The main character is Kay Vess, a con artist who is looking for a way to escape her pursuers and live a new life with her ally Nix. In this story, we will see her fighting, stealing, and traveling to various locations, facing different gangs and the most wanted.

The legendary cantinas/bars will exist here as well and will provide the opportunity for encounters with various characters, from whom she will receive information about missions, deliveries, or even items to enhance her armor and ship. Every risk will have its reward, so it is given that the player who seeks everything will engage in several conversations to explore every corner of the universe. Her story is new and not connected to any other character in the universe. Nix will assist her in battles and puzzle-solving, but also at times give her tips to help her overcome difficult situations. The missions will vary depending on the point of the story and from a certain point onwards will require significant skills.

In her journey into the universe of Star Wars Outlaws, the heroine will also participate in dogfights with the Empire and other wanted individuals, who will want to steal her equipment or have a mission to take her down.
