Skull and Bones for Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5 & PC

Skull and Bones for Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5 & PC

Finally we set sail!

...and I finally say why the game was announced in 2017 with the intention of being released in 2018. Since then, it has literally gone through 40 waves until it reaches the release date, which is on February 16, 2024.

The first wave out of the 40 happened in 2013, where the development started with the purpose of being the expansion of Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag. Of course, this never happened. After 11 years, a completely different title from the one initially started to be implemented.

Why am I writing all this? To "hear" it myself and to rekindle my interest as it is a game that I have been eagerly waiting for, but the delays and all these "nice" things made me (almost) feel what it's like to be in a situation like..."Games that are not played are quickly forgotten".

From the beginning to the depths

The action takes place in the 17th century, where piracy was the hashtag of the era. You start in your black rags after a shipwreck, trying to survive. You end up conquering the Indian Ocean, on a map almost 7 times larger than that of Assasins Creed Valhalla, but it's a long way to get there! You will need to rise from your ashes and become an Indian sailor, to become the ruler of the seas.

To achieve all this, you will need to become bad. Very bad. So bad that every time you become tougher and more infamous, (a word that obviously doesn't exist), you will be rewarded with points that will give you the ability to participate in more difficult missions, build new, more impressive ships, and conquer unimaginable wealth.

Your first stop as a pirate rookie will be the island of Sainte Anne, where you will be initiated into the basics of pirate culture. There you will find various craftsmen who will send you to find materials in order to build your first ship.

Create it as you imagine it!

Ships are another exciting chapter of the game. There seem to be three types of ships, Navigation, Firepower, and Cargo. Each one of them is intended for different purposes, possessing different abilities.

You will need to create entire fleets to face various challenges. The ships will not be on "automatic" as you will have full control over both navigation and crew guidance, up to the battle itself.

Also important is the ability to fully customize the ships. You will make decisions regarding the defensive as well as offensive function of your ship by adding more powerful cannons, explosives, and reinforcing your pirate's perimeter with strong materials. You will also be able to decorate the ship with furniture of your taste which will have an impact on the crew, such as faster cannon loading, faster stamina regeneration, and more!

You will have the opportunity to play alone or cooperatively! You may be ambitious enough and want to make it through solo, but if you find yourself in trouble, shoot flares into the sky and someone will come to help you. But don't tie a sailor's knot because pirates are...a wicked bunch!

Use your binoculars and see the ship in the distance. What kind of ship is it? What does it carry? Prepare yourself before you confront it.

Find shipwrecks and snatch treasures from merchant ships escorted by powerful fleets and...don't forget the magic! The magic and the fairy tale that lies in the depths of the oceans, battling mythical creatures that will give you even more rare gifts!

The game gradually increases the difficulty level, and as you become stronger, the missions you undertake will be more dangerous, bringing you greater wealth. You will need to raid castles that will be difficult to conquer alone. Seek help to find someone who can give you a helping cannon.

Don't rest easy if you find yourself at the top of the top! Pirates are greedy, they want more, the top is not enough for them! As soon as you reach the maximum possible upgrade, you will unlock new experiences with countless treasures that will attract other...possible suitors.

Challenge players from all over the world who thirst for what you thirst for! For treasures and adventures!

The game will support Cross Play, which means you will be able to play with a friend who has the same console as you!

Have fun!!
